Registration Now Open for 2025 PGA Head Professional Championship of Canada & Head Teaching Professional Championship
Two National Titles to Be Contested at All-Inclusive Iberostar Playa Paraíso Resort, December 6–11, 2025
ACTON, ON - The PGA of Canada is proud to announce that registration is now open for both the 2025 Head Professional Championship of Canada presented by Callaway Golf and the inaugural Head Teaching Professional Championship of Canada supported by UpSwing Golf, taking place December 6–11 at the stunning Iberostar Playa Paraíso Golf Club near Cancun, Mexico.
The resort, which previously hosted the 2023 championship, will once again provide an all-inclusive, world-class experience for members, guests, and families alike.
This year’s championship introduces the Head Teaching Professional Championship of Canada supported by UpSwing Golf, a new standalone event designed specifically for PGA of Canada members in instructional leadership roles.
Both championships will run concurrently, with separate purses, leaderboards, and titles, contested over 54 holes with no cut from December 8–10, preceded by a practice round on December 7.
Registration for the Head Pro Championship can be found here while registration for the Head Teaching Pro Championship can be found here.
The purse for each event has been split based on historic registration data and field size. The Head Professional Championship of Canada presented by Callaway Golf will feature a $35,000 purse while the Head Teaching Professional Championship of Canada supported by UpSwing Golf will feature a $15,000 purse.
The purses are subject to change at the discretion of the PGA of Canada based on field size.
“We’re thrilled to open registration for both championships and excited to introduce a new national title for our Head Teaching Professionals,” said Matt Mueller, Senior Manager, Championships & Events. “The Iberostar Playa Paraíso resort delivers an incredible golf and social experience, and we can’t wait to welcome our members to another unforgettable week in Mexico.”
While efforts were made to bring the event back to Canada in 2025, scheduling conflicts across national and zone calendars made it unfeasible. Based on accessibility, affordability, and member feedback, the PGA of Canada selected Iberostar Playa Paraíso as the optimal venue.
