Lightspeed Provides $50,000 Donation to the PGA of Canada Foundation Benevolent Fund

[Acton, ON] — Lightspeed, a National Partner of the PGA of Canada and a leading global provider of point-of-sale and e-commerce solutions, has reaffirmed its commitment to the community and golf professionals throughout Canada by announcing a generous donation of $50,000 to the PGA of Canada Foundation Benevolent Fund.

The announcement was made publicly on Wednesday at Canada Night at the PGA Show in Orlando, Florida, where over over 300 individuals, many of them PGA of Canada members, gathered to celebrate the 2023 PGA of Canada National Award winners and Hall of Fame inductees.

This significant contribution from Lightspeed aims to support the PGA of Canada Foundation Benevolent Fund in continuing to provide temporary assistance to past and present PGA of Canada members and apprentice members who find themselves in financial hardship.

Since the Benevolent Fund came to fruition in March of 2021, several past and present members in dire situations due to medical or other unforeseen circumstances have been aided by the fund.

“PGA of Canada members are like family to one-another. When somebody in our family is in a time of need, throughout history, the PGA of Canada has stepped up and helped,” said Warren Crosbie, PGA of Canada Past President and Chair of the PGA of Canada Foundation Benevolent Fund. “This generous donation by Lightspeed will go a long way towards helping the association continue this mandate and will make a remarkable difference in the golf community.”

Lightspeed's donation reflects the company's belief in the power of sport to bring people together and drive positive change.

"Lightspeed is honoured to contribute to the PGA of Canada Foundation Benevolent Fund, an organization that provides essential support to individuals facing challenging circumstances within the golf community," said David Hope, General Manager of Lightspeed Golf. "Our donation reflects our commitment to making a positive impact on the communities in which we operate, and we are proud to stand alongside the PGA of Canada Foundation in their mission to support those in need."

Lightspeed has been the Official Golf Management Software of the PGA of Canada since 2021 and is the go-to e-commerce and POS solution for many golf clubs across Canada.

“From the minute the PGA of Canada began its relationship with Lightspeed, they have been everything we could want from a partner and more. This extremely generous donation is just another example of why they are such a world-class company and leaders in the golf space,” said Kevin Thistle, PGA of Canada CEO. “I have received several calls from members who have been helped by the Benevolent Fund, and it is all because of the generosity of our members who have donated to the Foundation, and companies like Lightspeed. We can’t thank you enough.”
