The PGA Head Professional Championship of Canada presented by Callaway Golf and the PGA Head Teaching Professional Championship of Canada supported by UpSwing Golf are set to bring some of the country's top PGA of Canada professionals together at Redwoods Golf Club in Langley, B.C., this week as the championship returns to Canada.
With two national titles on the line, a combined field of 85 players and no cut in either championship, every competitor will have the opportunity to make a run at the top of the leaderboards over 54 holes. The championships will also feature the conclusion of the InterZone Championship after the first two rounds.
Let's take a closer look at the fields, the course and a few things to watch as the championships get underway.
A familiar venue with a history of dramatic finishes
Redwoods Golf Club is no stranger to hosting national championship golf. In 2024, the course welcomed the PGA Assistants' Championship of Canada presented by Callaway Golf, where Wes Heffernan produced one of the most memorable final rounds in recent history.
Heffernan entered the final round eight strokes off the lead, but a remarkable closing effort changed everything. After making three consecutive birdies from holes nine through 11, he eagled the par-5 14th, birdied the 15th and continued his charge down the stretch. A birdie on the 17th helped complete a stunning final-round 62, giving Heffernan the championship at 12-under par.
The course is a par 71 and prioritizes strategy off the tee as dense forest lines narrow fairways on most of the holes. Club selection will be the most important aspect for many players this week, and one of the most interesting things to watch.
The Head Professional Championship
The PGA Head Professional Championship of Canada presented by Callaway Golf features a field of 69 players competing for the national title and a first-place cheque of $8,460.
Billy Houle returns as the defending champion, looking to build on last year's victory and add another national championship to his résumé. He will face a field of 68 challengers, each looking to make the most of the opportunity at Redwoods.

The Head Teaching Professional Championship
The PGA Head Teaching Professional Championship of Canada supported by UpSwing Golf will see 16 players compete for their own national title and a first-place cheque of $5,560.
The smaller field provides an opportunity for the competitors to focus on their own games while keeping a close eye on the leaderboard. As with the Head Professional Championship, there is no cut, meaning all 16 players will have the full 54 holes to make their move.

The InterZone Championship
Alongside the individual championships, the InterZone Championship will conclude following the first two rounds, with PGA of Canada professionals representing their respective Zones in a team competition.
The format is straightforward: each team member plays their own ball, and the best three scores from each team count toward the team total on each of the first two days. The team with the lowest combined score after 36 holes claims the InterZone title.
