With a national championship on the line, players will not only be chasing one of the most prestigious titles in Canadian professional golf, but also new opportunities that have elevated the significance of this year's championship. A victory this week brings national recognition, international opportunities and the chance to compete against the world's best next season. Whoever makes the most birdies this week will also win the Birdie Juice Birdie Race and a $250 bonus.
The championship also continues to showcase the depth of talent across the PGA of Canada, with past champions and accomplished club professionals from coast to coast all vying for the P.D. Ross Trophy.
RBC Canadian Open Exemption on the Line
For the first time in championship history, the winner of the PGA Championship of Canada presented by Tapinn will earn an exemption into the 2027 RBC Canadian Open, providing an opportunity to compete alongside many of the world's best players on Canadian soil.
The champion will also secure a place on Team Canada for the 2027 Four Nations Cup, earning the opportunity to represent the PGA of Canada in international competition against fellow PGA professionals from around the world.
Strong Field of Past National Champions and Other Standout Players
As always, Canada's national championship features one of the deepest professional fields assembled each season. Past PGA Championship of Canada winners return looking to add another national title to their résumés, while accomplished PGA of Canada professionals from every zone arrive with conviction built through zone championships and other professional events.
Golf Course Sets Up for Great Finish
St. Eugene Golf Resort promises an exciting finish with two reachable par-5s awaiting competitors over the closing stretch.
The 16th hole offers players an opportunity to make a late charge up the leaderboard, while the finishing 18th provides one final chance to produce eagle or birdie when the championship is on the line. Those scoring opportunities could create dramatic leaderboard swings when we head into the closing stretch of the championship.
