The Marshes Golf Club at Brookstreet Resort Prepares to Host the BreconRidge Canadian PGA Seniors' Championship for a Third Consecutive Year

ACTON, ON (June 14, 2007) – The Marshes Golf Club at Brookstreet Resort in Kanata, Ontario is once again preparing to showcase their facility and host the BreconRidge Canadian PGA Seniors’ Championship. The event is returning for the third straight year and will be played from July 19 -July 22, 2007 at the four-diamond Brookstreet Resort.

“We are delighted to return to The Marshes Golf Club at Brookstreet,” stated Stephen Carroll, Executive Director of the Canadian PGA. “Last year, for the second time our members had a remarkable experience playing a challenging course and enjoying the first-class hospitality at the Brookstreet and we know the third year will be even better.”

Activities will begin Thursday, July 19th with the CAA Pro-Am tournament followed by the infamous Lumiere Gala at Brookstreet Resort, which promises to be one of Ottawa’s best summer parties. Since its inception, the Lumiere Gala has contributed over $89,000 to a variety of local charitable organizations. This year, funds will be donated to the University of Ottawa Heart Institute.

The BreconRidge Canadian PGA Seniors’ Championship tournament will commence on Friday, July 20 and will consist of a three-day, 54-hole individual stroke play competition open to Canadian PGA Professionals aged 50 and older. The Super Seniors’ (60 and older) and Diamond (70 and older) divisions will be contested over 36 holes in two days.

“The Marshes at Brookstreet is pleased to host the BreconRidge Canadian PGA Seniors Championship for the third consecutive year. The field has been very strong over the past two years and with the confirmed return of many past champions it looks to provide excitement for the Nation’s Capital golfing community once again,” said Tony Dunn, VP of Golf & Special Projects for The Marshes Golf Club. “We look forward to seeing all of the region’s golf enthusiasts join in to watch many of Canada's greatest senior players work their way around our beautiful course.”

“BreconRidge is pleased to be the title sponsor of the Canadian PGA Seniors’ Championship for the second year and we felt that last year’s event was a tremendous success,” said Bruce Rodgers, BreconRidge CEO. “The Marshes Golf Club will once again provide a challenge for these legendary Canadian players and we look forward to watching a great event.”

The Marshes Golf Club is one of the premier golf destinations and leading corporate-play facility in Ontario. Designed by Robert Trent Jones, the course, which stretches over 7,000 yards includes six par 3’s, six par 4’s and six par 5’s, has received many accolades.
