Delta Meadowvale Named Official Host Hotel for the Canadian PGA Women’s Championship presented by NIKE Golf

ACTON, ON (July 22, 2008) - The Canadian PGA is pleased to name the Delta Meadowvale Resort and Conference Centre as the official host hotel for the Canadian PGA Women’s Championship presented by NIKE Golf. This is the first time that the Delta Meadowvale will host female golfers from around the world for this prestigious National Championship.

The hotel has put together a fabulous package for the event, including accommodations for the players featuring a Delta Guestroom with a private balcony at an incredible rate.

“It is a great honour to be associated with the Canadian PGA and NIKE Golf and to be the host hotel for such an important tournament,” stated Delta Meadowvale Resort & Conference Centre General Manager Robert Housez.

“We are pleased to have the Delta Meadowvale as the host hotel for the Women’s Championship,” stated Brad Moyer, Tournament Director for the Canadian PGA. “Delta Hotels have an excellent reputation for their commitment to quality and for consistently delivering an outstanding guest experience. We are confident that the participants of our Championship will enjoy their visit.”

The Canadian PGA Women’s Championship presented by NIKE Golf will make its debut August 6th to 8th, 2008 at Credit Valley G&CC in Mississauga, Ontario. The 21st edition of the event, which will also be open to foreign players for the first time, offers a purse of $70,000 for club and touring women professionals.

Along with opening the field to foreign players, the event is receiving a makeover of sorts as amateurs and professionals can be fitted and demo NIKE Golf’s innovative products before the Simmlands Insurance Pro-Am on August 6th, which will be followed by a NIKE Golf fashion show. Pro-am participants will also be eligible to win a NIKE Golf makeover.

Past champions of this event include LPGA Tour players Lorie Kane (five victories) and Alena Sharp, who won the championship in 2004.

The deadline for players to confirm their intention to compete at the 2008 Canadian PGA Women’s Championship presented by NIKE Golf is Thursday, July 31st, 2008.

Player confirmations and announcements will continue in the weeks leading up to the event.

The event is free for spectators to attend.
