Adam LeBrun Named Coordinator of Tournaments & Events for the Canadian PGA

(Acton, ON) May 27, 2010 – The Canadian PGA is pleased to announce that Adam LeBrun of Guelph, ON will join the Association as the new Coordinator of Tournaments & Events.

A proven performer in the golf industry, LeBrun’s move caps a ten year career with Golf Canada (Royal Canadian Golf Association) after seven years as the Coordinator – Rules & Competitions and three years as the Handicap Coordinator.

“I’m excited to start a new chapter of my career with the Canadian PGA,” said LeBrun, who was the Tournament Director for up to six championships annually for Golf Canada. “My goal is to make all Canadian PGA National tournaments and events bigger and better every single year and I’m going to hit the ground running.”

In his time at Golf Canada, Adam was responsible for course and championship set-up, managing budgets for the Championship Division, complete management of host club volunteer committees, maintaining relationships with players, governors and club officials and the management of the RCGA Rules Education Program & Amateur Status.

In addition, Adam is considered to be one of the future stars in the Rules of Golf and is currently one of only four people in the world to be certified at the highest level of the Rules of Golf by the RCGA, USGA and the R&A.

“The Canadian PGA is thrilled to have Adam LeBrun join our National Office team,”said Gary Bernard, Executive Director of the Canadian PGA. “Adam is well known around the world for his rules of golf accomplishments and the experience he earned at Golf Canada will enhance all of our Canadian PGA National tournaments and events.”

Adam has a Sports Administration Degree from Durham College and also played on the Durham Lords varsity golf team. While at Durham Adam’s gained significant experience with other major Associations and events including the Toronto Rock Lacrosse, the Canadian Hockey Association and the CIAU Vanier Cup.

Major areas of focus for Adam will include contribution to the long term viability, success and offerings of Canadian PGA National tournaments and events, securing future sites for all Canadian PGA National Championships, event budgeting and inventory maintenance.
