How were target scores determined?

EXAMPLE
Using the current PGA of Canada PAT target scores as the benchmark and information obtained from Golf Canada. As per Golf Canada: +5 is the average for the top 5 in Canada

Now take the difference between that +5 average and the average ‘Top 5 impairment handicap’ in each impairment group. In the case of a ‘Amputation above knee’ this equates to 5 shots (+5 to 0) which must be added to the regular PAT level. So, in the case of a man of 30 years of age this would equate to (CR +9 + 5 = CR +14 shots).

You can now see the differential is 14. So as your regular PAT scores stipulate the following

Amputation above knee (The Top 5 EDGA pass holders average handicap 0)

  • For Men, 49 years of age and under, the course rating plus 9 + 5 = 14
  • For Men, 50 years of age and older, the course rating plus 11 + 5 = 16
  • For Women, 49 years of age and under, the course rating plus 13 + 5 = 18
  • For Women, 50 years of age and older, the course rating plus 15 +5 = 20
