Lee Anna Osei
Lee Anna Osei , MA, is Ghanaian Canadian professional basketball coach, a former standout NCAA and U Sport basketball athlete, and a champion for diversity, equity and inclusion in the Canadian sport sector. Coach Lee began her coaching career in 2006 and is the is the founder of two non-profit organizations;Canletes Basketball (2012), an skill development, events and marketing organization recognized nationally as the premier platform for Canadian women's basketball, and The Black Canadian Coaches Association (2020) which connects racialized peoples and allies to celebrate, empower, and advocate for Black, Indigenous and People of Colour in the Canadian sport sector.
In honour of Canada's 150th anniversary, Lee Anna was selected as 1 of 150 women nationally who excel in their field, push for greater diversity and who help build vibrant communities in the ‘HERSTORY in Black’ series as televised by CBC News. In 2018, she became the first Black female Head Coach of a university basketball team in the history of the Maritimes.
In 2020, she was featured on Sportsnet's Top of Her Game for her leadership. In 2021, Coach Lee was recognized as 1 of 30 Most Influential Women in Canadian Sports by The Toronto Star.
