Course Overview

In Leadership Development in Golf Hospitality, you will develop an appreciation for golf hospitality and how important it is, not only for the satisfaction of your members and guests, but also for the success of your business and for you in your career as a golf professional. You will learn what it means to work in the hospitality industry and start to develop skills that will help you succeed. You will explore the concept of “unreasonable hospitality”, a term coined by Will Guidara, famed restaurateur and hospitality leader, and start to think about how you can be unreasonable in your pursuit of creating memorable experiences for the members and guests at your facility.

By the end of this course you will be able to:

  • Apply a hospitality lens to your work as a golf professional to improve business and personal success
  • Develop your hospitality skills and refine your hospitality mindset
  • Apply strategies for building relationships with members and guests
  • Deliver unreasonable hospitality to your members and guests

Assessment Method

Each module includes a variety of structured activities designed to deepen your understanding of hospitality and help you apply them directly to your work:

  • Learn its!: Dive into structured learning content that covers the core concepts of each module.
  • Discuss its!: Engage with fellow learners in discussions that enhance your understanding and provide different perspectives.
  • Share its!: Receive and provide feedback on practical materials and approaches, ensuring you can implement the strategies effectively at your facility.
  • Apply its!: Complete assignments that challenge you to apply what you've learned and receive feedback based on a rubric.

Learner Expectations

  • Complete all learning activities within the specified timeline (two weeks).
  • Participate in discussions, share feedback, and apply concepts through assignments.
  • Submit assignments for evaluation, which will be graded according to a defined rubric.
