Following the Class "A" Member vote, Robyn Scott and Michael Burns become the nominees to join the PGA of Canada Board of Directors as At-Large Members at the upcoming Special Meeting on November 21

The PGA of Canada is pleased to announce that after a week-long national vote among Class "A" members, Robyn Scott and Michael Burns will become the nominees to join the National Board of Directors as At-Large members at the upcoming Special Meeting on November 21.

As promised in the Diversity & Inclusion Task Force Report, the association strives to create an inclusive and representative Board that reflects the diversity of Canada. This is why the two new at-large positions were added.

In total, 20 applications were received from non-PGA of Canada members who presented experience, skills and expertise that would fill gaps as identified in a skill assessment exercise the board completed earlier this year.

We would like to offer a huge thank you to our nominating committee: Chair, Jon Garron, PGA of Alberta President, Matt Johnson, PGA of Canada past President, Teejay Alderdice, Vice President of Tennis Participation and Partnership at Tennis Canada, Eva Havaris, Manager, Programs with Special Olympics Canada, Danielle Emmons, and PGA of Canada staff lead, Darcy Kral.

At the September Board of Directors meeting, Robyn Scott and Michael Burns were approved as recommended nominees. Following the membership vote from September 11-15, 2023 in which 215 Class "A" Members voted, Robyn Scott and Michael Burns received 32% of total votes (third place had 10% of the vote).

Robyn Scott and Michael Burns will become the nominees for the two new At Large Board of Director volunteer positions on the slate for the upcoming Special Meeting on November 21, 2023.

The strength of the PGA of Canada comes from the expertise of those trusted with seats at the decision-making table. As board members, Robyn and Michael will be trusted to use their knowledge and passion to help lead important discussions and make decisions that will drive the industry forward for both colleagues and future generations.

Thank you to all Class "A" Members who took the time to review the candidates and cast a vote.
