Elise Maiolino

As an enthusiastic recreational golfer, I have a strong appreciation for the work of the PGA of Canada, its Board, and its members. I am eager to support the organization in its ambition to grow the game of golf, while also ensuring that diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) are at the forefront of the PGA of Canada’s governance.

I offer the PGA of Canada significant experience in the areas of DEI, governance, risk management, and regulatory affairs. As the Global Head of Women’s Safety Policy at Uber, as a Senior Gender and Diversity Advisor to the Prime Minister of Canada, and as a Course Instructor in the Department of Sociology at the University of Toronto, I have built a strong track record as someone who can both champion and deliver organizational inclusion. I have done this by employing a listen-first, consensus- based approach to planning, as well as a pragmatic and agile approach to implementation. I am a strategic thinker, a collaborator, and someone who works tirelessly and respectfully toward outcomes I’m passionate about.

I hold a PhD in Sociology from the University of Toronto, and a Master of Arts in Women's Studies and Feminist Research from Western University. My academic research has been published in the Canadian Review of Sociology; the Journal of Women, Politics & Policy; and by UBC Press.

The highlight of my golf career was making two holes-in-one at the Himalayas at St Andrews.
