Balfour Golf & Recreation is looking to grow its team with the addition of a Golf Shop Supervisor for the 2022 golf season and beyond. Located in the West Kootenay region of British Columbia, Balfour Golf & Recreation has an 18-hole Les Furber designed golf course that features two distinct nines, a full length 10-stall driving range, multiple short game practice areas and a full-service seasonal restaurant. In addition to our golf course, Balfour Golf & Recreation operates a Fitness Centre, Community Hall, outdoor Tennis & Pickleball courts, a community sports field currently undergoing a large revitalization project, and a public wharf.

The Balfour area is in a growth phase and with well established communities in close proximity, the future for Balfour Golf & Recreation is bright. Over the past number of years our golf facility has steadily been evolving and continually has its sights set on becoming regarded as the benchmark for Golf Experiences in our region.

Responsibilities

The Golf Shop Supervisor will assist the General Manager and ultimately assume the lead role in the supervision of all daily golf operation activities including:

• Motivating and providing direction to our Golf Operations Team
• Inventory management, merchandising, sales & promotion
• Promotion, organization, and execution of weekly league play, in house tournaments and charity/corporate events.
• Managing the daily tee sheet with proficiency and forward thinking
• Providing instruction to all ages and ability of golfer including the implementation of a well-rounded Junior Program.
• Preform basic club repair
• Additional responsibilities as directed by the General Manager

Qualifications

• Strong interpersonal skills demonstrating a friendly and outgoing attitude and excitement to work within a fun, team-oriented environment.
• Proficient in the use of all MS Office programs and one or more point of sale programs.
• Entrepreneurial desire to succeed as a Golf Instructor with an eagerness to learn and grow in this capacity.
• Ample sales experience with motivation to go above and beyond to meet the needs of our guests.
• Strong organizational, time management and multi-tasking skills
• Strong problem solving and decision-making skills
• PGA of Canada Apprentice or Associate Professional in good standing
• 2+ years experience in the Golf Industry

Compensation

• $3200 - $3600 per month based on experience
• 80% of teaching revenue conducted outside of scheduled work hours

Employment Duration

Seasonal position starting March 28 through October 29 with the option for multi-year agreement upon successful completion of year one.
