Nestled on the banks of the Seine River, Lorette Golf Course is located within a 15-minute drive from the Mint in Winnipeg. Lorette is a 9-hole public play golf course with approximately 200 members. The golf course is known for being well manicured and one of Manitoba’s best 9-hole courses.
Reporting to the ownership's management group, the General Manager will be responsible for overseeing the operations of the Administration office, Course Superintendent, Pro-Shop and our Food and Beverage services.
- Job Summary
- The General Manager plans, leads, executes, and manages Lorette Golf Course operations in accordance with good golf course management practices. The General Manager is responsible for all aspects of the course including its activities and the relationships between the course and its guests, members, employees, and community. The General Manager will work closely with the course Superintendent to ensure our customers have a great experience playing golf while receiving great customer service in the Pro-shop and Restaurant.
- Responsibilities

Strategic Planning:
- Will work with the ownership's management group on its current strategic plan and goals
- Will develop with the advice of the ownership's management group, strategic direction, goals as well as budgeting and operating principles
Financial:
- Assumes ultimate accountability for the sound financial management and internal controls
- Accepts accountability for the creation of financial reports
- Prepares the annual budget and presents it to the ownership's management group for approval
- Oversees the marketing and promotion of Lorette Golf Course
Communication:
- Communicates the values and operating principles to the employees
- Provides reports and related information as required from the ownership's management group
- Represents and is the face of Lorette Golf Course to the golf industry and the public
- Guarantees a good presence on social media to promote Lorette Golf Course
Operations and Customer Service:
- Provides overall direction for the golf course daily, in line with the objectives established by the ownership's management group
- Ensures that the policies and procedures are in place and being followed
- Guarantees that all practices comply with provincial/federal laws and licensing agreements
- Participates in regular meetings with the ownership's management group
Human Resources:
- Creates and maintains relationships with the golf course’s members and public players
- Provides Leadership to the organization by motivating and supporting all employees
- Oversees hiring, training, development, and retention of staff
- Creates and environment where the staff feels safe and comfortable doing their jobs
- Qualifications

- Post-Secondary education or experience in a related field such as golf management, business, hospitality or sports and leisure management
- Strong knowledge of golf operations
- Strong knowledge of food and beverage operations
- Great computer skills
- A working knowledge of general accounting
- Management and Leadership experience
- Excellent communication skills, including social media
- Self-motivated with the willingness and ability to work flexible hours including weekends
- Strong organizational skills, time management proficiency with the ability to meet deadlines
