Associate/Apprentice Professional

The Highwood was established in August of 1958 and is in the town of High River, just 30 minutes south of Calgary. The club is wholly owned by shareholders and is a semi-private facility welcoming anyone to golf, dine, and enjoy social time in a beautiful, friendly setting. We have 27 golf holes with the championship Highwood 18 course along with the newly created Spitzee 9 course. A new 10,000 square foot clubhouse was completed in 2010 and hosts a variety of meetings, events, and weddings. The Highwood has a fully stocked pro shop, locker rooms, meeting space, 200-person banquet hall (Wellman Room), Golf Simulator, Foxes Den restaurant, snack shack, grass tee driving range, and short game facility.

Job Summary
The Highwood is seeking a career minded individual to become a key part of the team for 2021 and beyond.
Responsibilities
  • The candidate will work a regular shift in the pro shop
  • Conduct the Highwood’s lesson and clinic programming.
Qualifications
  • Member of the PGA of Canada (Class "A" preferred)
  • Degree in Business Management or Hospitality or equivalent
  • Experienced and enthusiastic instructor to golfers of all abilities
  • Superior guest service skills
  • Fully capable in operational environment
  • Ability to effectively communicate and organize
  • Remains respectful and level headed at all times
  • Hard working, reliable, and trustworthy
Compensation
  • This is a salaried position which pays $4,000/month and is scheduled for 5 days per week.
