Job Summary
Under the supervision of the Director of Golf, the Assistant Professional is responsible for assisting with the day-to-day golf shop operations while contributing to a positive experience for Deer Ridge members and guests. Following and within established policies, procedures and guidelines is required to provide sales services, administrative assistance and golf related professional expertise while contributing to an outstanding member experience.
  • Display a friendly and professional attitude consistent with the image of Deer Ridge Golf Club.
  • Provide elite customer service to the membership.
  • Follow opening and closing procedures.
  • Executes tee time reservations
  • Responsible for assisting in the daily maintenance of the Golf Shop. This would include assisting in maintaining all merchandise displays.
  • Assist with product receiving, imputing, pricing, stocking, and merchandising.
  • Assist with inventory management and audit preparation functions.
  • Responsible for merchandise displays, cleanliness, and overall Golf Shop appearance.
  • Organize and conduct various tournament functions.
  • Communicate with starter and on-course rangers to ensure smooth operations.
  • Complies with the Occupational Health and Safety Act, First Aid and established policies and procedures.
  • A PGA of Canada member in good standing or Apprentice Professional
  • 1 or 2 years of Semi-Private or Private Club experience (preferred).
  • Successful completion of the PGA Playing Ability Test and working toward Class “A’ designation.
  • Familiar with Jonas POS and Tee Time applications and Golf Genius (preferred).
  • Hourly rate of pay or salary to be negotiated based on experience
  • Flexible work schedule (40 hours per week with 2 full days off).

  • PGA of Canada dues paid after one season of employment
