Niagara National Golf & Country is currently seeking a highly motivated Associate/Assistant Professional for the 2022 golf season. The successful candidate will be immersed in all aspects of the profession at busy 18-hole golf course located in the Niagara Region.

Job Summary
Reporting to the General Manager, the successful candidate will oversee the performance of the Pro Shop and all Golf Operations. The priority will be to provide unparalleled customer service at all times, while assisting in organizing an executing events and programs for all members, guests, and corporate clients. The goal is to ensure every visitor to Niagara National has a first-class experience.
Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage all aspects of the Golf Shop, Member Services and Golf Operations
  • Always maintain and promote a well-respected and professional image.
  • Recruit, hire, train, and motivate Golf Operations staff to adhered to our culture
  • Organize, schedule, and manage all staff
  • Organize, schedule, and manage all golf events and leagues
  • Participate as an active member of the Leadership Team
  • Support strong employee performance by setting clear expectations, providing performance feedback, and developing employee capability
  • Ensure product information is available to staff and customers
  • Attend trade shows, merchandise shows, and seminars
  • Assist in pricing merchandise, receiving inventory, restocking, shop displays, and displaying merchandise on floor in timely manner
  • Courteously enforce regulations regarding dress code, carry-on beverages, cart rental enforcement, etc., to avoid conflicts for starters and marshals
  • Operate POS for all transactions; assure that POS is operating properly; perform routine troubleshooting for POS problems, and inventory input and management
  • League scoring, prizing, contests
  • Ensure that all staff handles cash accurately and according to established security procedures.
  • Maintenance and communication of all Health and Safety initiatives within the pro shop environment
  • Develop action plans to realize performance improvement opportunities and carry these through to completion
  • Participate in pro shop administrative activities as required, including maintaining scrolls,financial reporting, budgeting, and POS operations
  • Other various duties associated with golf shop operations
Qualifications
  • Member of the PGA of Canada in good standing
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Exceptional customer services skills
  • Proven management and organizational skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work within a team environment
  • Familiarity with Tee-On software an asset
