Greensmere is a 36-hole championship golf course in Ottawa, just ten minutes west of Kanata. The Premiere and Legacy courses have been sculpted on almost 400 acres of land utilizing innovative environmental strategies and has achieved designation as a Certified Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary through the Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary Program for Golf Courses (ACSP).

Job Summary

The ideal candidate will work under the Director of Golf to assist with the planning and organizing of daily golf operations and tournaments while ensuring the consistent delivery of quality service to all members and clients alike.

Responsibilities

Primary Duties:

  • Assists in managing the running of the Pro shop, back shop and starters/player assistants;
  • Enforces all the club’s rules and regulations governing the use of the golf course, golf carts and other facilities;
  • Assists in managing and promoting the membership of the club;
  • Assists with managing a cart reservation waiver system; and
  • Prepare golf clinics, player improvement plans, etc. and enthusiastically promotes golf and other events at, and outside of the club.

Specific Duties:

  • Assists with training and scheduling the staff for the Pro Shop, Back Shop, Driving Range and Starters/Player Assistants;
  • Ensures the pro shop is kept in a clean and presentable condition;
  • Provides rule decisions for members when required;
  • Assists with ordering, stocking and displaying merchandise for sale;
  • With the Director of Golf, works with the Golf Course Superintendent regarding the playability and status of the course and driving range;
  • Ensures co-ordination of member and public ladies’ and men’s leagues, members’ tournaments, junior clinics and outside tournaments; and
  • Provides competent golf instruction for all groups and levels of players.
Qualifications
  • Maintain a PGA of Canada Class A membership in good standing;
  • Proven track record in working in a golf shop;
  • Sound knowledge of the game and rules of golf, golf facility operations and tournament operations;
  • Strong organizational, planning and prioritization skills;
  • Good communicator; and
  • Self-motivated and a strong work ethic with a desire to help grow our clinics, camps and lessons.
Compensation
  • The contract remuneration will have a guaranteed base salary; and
  • 80% of your lesson revenue.
