Interested in delivering or helping with a Future Links driven by Acura program? Become a Community Golf Coach!

What? This workshop has been designed for the Community Golf Coach who is, or would like to, work with children or youth and is introducing the basic skills of golf. The overall goal of this workshop is to help prepare the coach to be competent in the skills required by a community coach.

Over a two day period, this workshop will delve into areas of growth and development, teaching and learning, safety and risk management, golf equipment and introduction to technical skills, activity design, session planning, and much more. Not only will these areas be debated on, discussed with peers, and interactive breakout sessions; but we will also spend nearly a half day outdoors putting the classroom work into a practical reality for the coaches to bring back to their clubs.

Why? Junior golf in Canada and Future Links driven by Acura programs can all benefit from a qualified Community Golf Coach who has better depth in their skills when working with youth. The workshop will be a great opportunity for coaches to reflect on their current understandings of children, junior golf and the environments children want to participate in. Community level coaches can have an important opportunity to have an impact on the lives of the children being introduced to the game.

Who? The Community Golf Coach may already help or volunteer at their local golf club or even assist with a PGA Professional with an emphasis on some of the following individuals: ? Lead volunteers ? Parents ? Club members ? PGA members (CFM) ? Junior Coordinators

How? Registration is on the right hand side of this page under Public Workshops

Cost for the workshop is $300 plus tax, which includes a full lunch on both days.
