Compensation for Golf Instruction & Use of Logo

 

Logo Guidelines: Non-Members trained by the PGA of Canada
 

Candidates who are trained by the PGA of Canada are not to be classified as PGA of Canada members, golf professionals, or PGA Golf Coaches. These individuals are not permitted to use the PGA of Canada logo under any circumstances. Legal action may be taken to any individuals improperly using the PGA of Canada logo.

Non-PGA of Canada members who complete training conducted by the PGA of Canada are permitted to use the following terminology:

“NCCP Golf Coach trained in [insert context] status by the PGA of Canada”

Amateur Status: Policy on payment/compensation for golf instruction

An amateur golfer must not receive payment or compensation, directly or indirectly, for giving golf instruction.

Exception:
An exception is that an amateur golfer may receive expenses, payment or compensation for giving golf instruction as part of the CN Future Links program.

Another exception is that an amateur golfer who is (i) an employee of an educational institution or system or (ii) a counselor at a camp or other similar organized program, may receive payment or compensation for golf instruction to students in the institution, system or camp, provided that the total time devoted to such instruction comprises less than 50 percent of the time spent in the performance of all duties as such an employee or counselor.
