Yvan Beauchemin and Craig Marseilles Added to Canadian PGA Seniors' Field

KANATA, ON (June 30, 2008) – The Canadian PGA is pleased to announce that Champions Tour player Craig Marseilles of Maple, ON and Yvan Beauchemin of Louiseville, QC have been added to an already stellar field at the BreconRidge Canadian PGA Senior’s Championship at The Marshes Golf Club in Kanata, ON.

“The addition of both Craig and Yvan takes the field for this event up another notch,” stated Brad Moyer, Tournament Director for the Canadian PGA. “With the amount of talent already in this field we expect to see quite the shootout leading up to the final round on Saturday.”

Beauchemin is no stranger to Canadian golf fans having won or been in the hunt of almost every tournament in Quebec that he was eligible for. This will be his first time teeing it up at the Canadian PGA Seniors’ Championship as he turned 50 years old this year and will be a “rookie” once again.

Beauchemin owns a piece of Canadian PGA history as the only four-time champion of the Canadian PGA Club Professional Championship and the only player to win the event in three consecutive years (’94, ’95, ’96).

Beauchemin has spent most of 2008 trying to qualify to participate in the Monday Qualifiers for the Champions Tour events each week.

Marseilles will also be making his debut this week in the Canadian PGA Seniors’ Championship after spending the 2008 season attempting to Monday Qualify for the Champions Tour events.

Marseilles, a three-time Ontario PGA event champion, sports a golf career that has taken him all over the world including three runner-up finishes at the Bermuda Open and a trip to the 1995 US Open after making it through sectional qualifying.

Beauchemin and Marseilles will be in the same pairing for the first two rounds as they tee it up with Ken Tarling of Sandford, ON at 8:00 am on Thursday and 8:50 am on Friday.
