The PGA of Canada Remembers

The PGA of Canada is deeply saddened by the passing of Stanley Golightly at the age of 93,

Stan is survived by his wife Joan of 46 years. He was predeceased by his parents Edwin and Hilda of Toronto, brother Norman (Anita) of Cambridge, Ont., and his step-son Gord, Toronto. Also surviving Stan are his nephew Norman in Los Angeles, step-daughter Catherine (Michael) in Vancouver and grandchildren Erica (Ben, with Mackenzie and Hunter) in Calgary and Adam in Vancouver.

Born and raised in Ontario, Stan was a Life Member of the PGA of Canada and was member of the assocation for more 50 years. He was very proud of this association and the opportunities it provided. Over his long career, Stan enjoyed playing on 270 golf courses in 12 countries. He also measured and rated 180 courses in Southern and Northern Ontario for the Ontario Golf Association.

Stan will be remembered for his work at Cedar Brae, Lambton and Scarboro Golf Clubs in Ontario. Stan and Joan enjoyed nearly two years at Tapestry (Wesbrook Village) in Vancouver, where they made many friendships among residents and staff alike.
