The PGA of Canada Remembers

John Gaudet of New Minas, Kings County, passed away Tuesday, November 1, 2016 at home.

Born in Bathurst, New Brunswick, he was a son of the late Cecilia Wheten.

John was a PGA of Canada member and had attained his Master Professional designation. He also had the honour of being inducted into the Saskatchewan Golf Hall of Fame. Teaching golf was John’s passion for over 50 years and had published a book "Golf After 50".

He is survived by his wife, Doris (Young); a son, Jamie (Elaine) Gaudet, Dawson City, Yukon; two daughters, Laura Gaudet-Speciale, Toronto, Ontario; Cathy (Shawn) Wood-Ryan, Whitehorse, Yukon; a step-son, Darren (Daphne) Parker, Austin, Texas; a step-daughter, Catrina Parker (Corie Lockhart), Calgary, Alberta; a sister, Madeline "Nonnie" Gaudet, Fredericton, New Brunswick; ten grandchildren, Katie Gaudet, Edmonton, Alberta; April Sedore, Dawson City; Meaghen Gaudet, Dawson City; Jake Speciale, Toronto; Taelor Speciale, Toronto; Cheyenne Wood-Ryan, Whitehorse; Callum Wood-Ryan, Whitehorse; Courtney Parker, Calgary; Madison Hilgers, Austin; Remington Hilgers, Austin; two great grandchildren, Kadyn and Airia, both of Dawson City; his first wife, Dorothy Gaudet, Toronto, Ontario. He was predeceased by a sister, Peggy Pockens; a brother, Dale Gaudet.

Cremation has taken place.
There will be no visitation, by request. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, November 4, 2016 in St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church, Kentville, Father John MacPherson officiating. Burial will take place in the Holy Cross Cemetery, Kentville. A reception will follow in St. Joseph’s Parish Hall. Donations in memory may be made to the Valley Regional Hospital – Carey Me Fund.
