New Equipment Fitting Workshop Launched

New Equipment Fitting Workshop Launched

The PGA of Canada’s new equipment fitting workshop is now available to all Class “A” members and Candidates for Membership.

This brand new training designed under the watchful eye of the association’s technical director and Derek Murray of FOREGolf—one of the world leaders in equipment fitting—the full day workshop (with a half day being outdoors with real golfers doing actual fittings) includes an array of group work, outdoor club fitting, individual self-discovery learning, sharing experiences, debate and outdoor practical equipment fitting work.

“PGA members and Candidates for Membership are going to benefit from the launch of this brand new, world-class training opportunity,” said the PGA of Canada’s managing director of education Morgan Court. “Engaging classroom sessions along with practical fitting work with real golfers will provide real-life practice professional development for the entire membership.”

Spread across PGA of Canada zones, the equipment fitting workshops take place this July and August and currently open for registration by checking out the Education Schedule.

The cost of the equipment fitting workshop is $300 and Class “A” members who are taking this as a professional development opportunity can apply to a PGA of Canada bursary to offset the full amount of that registration.

The equipment fitting workshop is worth three (3) professional development points for members who have ‘Certification” in any National Coaching Certification Program Instruction or Coaching contexts.

According to the PGA of Canada Compensation and Benefit Survey, 80 per cent of members offer club fitting at his or her facilities. The new equipment fitting workshop is an opportunity for members and CFMs to refine skills, get updated knowledge, share resources, best practices and experiences with other PGA professionals.
