The PGA of Canada Remembers

Bruce passed on December 24 ending a long battle with leukemia.

Bruce was an avid golfer from age 7 and lived a life-long dream to compete at the highest levels of the game. As his many friends will attest, this was not an easy or direct journey. He was an accomplished amateur, had a golf scholarship in Georgia, played the Canadian Tour in the mid-70’s, became an assistant pro at the Country Club in Kelowna, caddied on the PGA Tour for a long time and then decided he wanted to play competitively once again.

Bruce played several years on the Canadian Tour, one season on the South America Tour and in 2003 won the Tour School of the European Senior Tour at age 50. He played 5 full seasons, over 80 tournaments, travelling from the Caribbean throughout Europe, the Middle East and Russia following his dream. Bruce returned to Kelowna in 2009 to support his ailing parents and to receive more regular medical care.

Bruce is survived by his sister, Christine Hollander (John) his brother, Ross (Adair) and nieces, Jessica (Scott), Rebecca, Alexis, and nephews, Andrew and Ben. Thank you to the many professionals from BC Health who supported Bruce and to ongoing cancer research.
