The PGA Remembers . . .

It is with great sadness that\ Allan (Al) Kennedy passed away on Tuesday August 26, 2014 at the age of 73.

Al joined the PGA of Canada as an Apprentice in 1959 after winning the RCGA Canadian Junior Championship that same year. He spent two terms as President of the PGA of British Columbia (1969, 1972-1973). His impressive resume saw him spend many years as Head Professional at Quilchena Golf & Country Club and Gallagher's Canyon Golf & Country Club prior to being accepted as a Life Member of the PGA of Canada in 2010. In 1972 Al was the first Canadian golfer to break 60 to win the then BCPGA Championship. He passed on his passion for golf by teaching all levels of players, which he continued to do right up to his last day.

He is survived by his daughter Leanne (Arthur) Bunning; three sons Russell Kennedy (predeceased by wife Michelle), Bradley (Kelly) Kennedy and Craig (Cynthia) Kennedy; grandchildren, Kyle (Nicole), Brett, Brandon, Brady, Joseph, Johnathon, Alexander, Jason and Jaxon; and great grandchildren Trent and Alice.

Should friends desire to make donations in memory of Al, he requests they be made to the Gallagher's Canyon G&CC Junior Golf Program at the following:

Gallagher's Canyon Golf & Country Club
4320 W. Gallaghers Drive
