Getting to Know -- Brittany Mullin

How long have you been with the PGA of Canada?
I started last January (2013) as a placement for my post-graduate program. When that ended in April, Adam LeBrun asked me to stay on as intern for the tournament and events team for the summer. In September, the education department renewed my contract for an internship through the end of December. And just recently I was offered a full-time position within the education department.

What does your day-to-day job look like in the education department?
A lot of what I’m doing is taking over Matt’s (Allen) duties of looking after the candidates for membership. So, any of the candidates for membership who have questions, concerns or comments I’m their person. I’m going to help guide them through their education requirements and get them on the path to becoming PGA of Canada Class “A” professionals.

Talk about the culture at the PGA of Canada’s headquarters
Everyone here gets along really well and we have a lot of fun together. It’s funny too because we’re all super different personality wise but we’re all hard workers and we make it work.

Switching gears, you’re a dog person aren’t you?
Oh yeah I am. I have three dachshunds—also known as wiener dogs—and I’m obsessed with them. I just love them; they’re so great.

If your dogs could talk, what would they say about you?

They would say I like to talk a lot. The Wienies and me have a lot of conversations—they’re great listeners.

OK, enough about your dogs, let’s chat about music.
My older sister really likes country music, so I’ve basically been listening to it my entire life. My first concert ever was the Dixie Chicks and that was just amazing.

So who are your top five country bands and/or artists right now?
Well, right now I’m really into Florida Georgia Line and they're No. 1 without a doubt. I recently went to a Jason Aldean concert and that was fabulous. I also love Luke Bryan and there’s also a band called Shovel and Rope and they’re really great too.

Last question—can you two-step?
No, I can’t two-step. Well, I mean I could if I really wanted to, but you know.
