British Columbia, Saskatchewan and Atlantic Zones National Director Elections

All 'Class A' PGA members in the British Columbia, Saskatchewan and Atlantic Zones will have an opportunity to vote for their National Director in an open and widely accessible election this April.

"This spring will be a very exciting time and process for the PGA of Canada," says PGA of Canada President, Gregg Schubert. "Our new national election process gives PGA Members in the British Columbia, Saskatchewan and Atlantic Zones every opportunity to become informed on the process and vote for the person whom they see fit to be a National Director."

Members who meet the National Director qualifications may stand for election by completing the application form.

Nominations for the elections shall be closed at 5 p.m. (EST) on Monday, Feb. 24, 2014.

Once nominations have closed, candidates will have an opportunity to create individual profile pages on the PGA of Canada's National Elections web portal.

"Candidates will be able to host bio information, videos, blogs and other relevant information pertaining to his or her campaign," Schubert says.

Candidates' profiles and voting procedures will be provided in writing to the Members of the relevant Zone Association by Friday, March 21, 2014. Voting will occur online, email, fax or mail ballot over a one-week period-April 2 thru April 9, 2014.

Once voting has closed, all ballots shall be sent to an independent Scrutineer appointed by the National Board. The Scrutineer shall complete a written report of the voting results, which shall be delivered to the CEO as soon after the closing of elections as is possible, and, in any event, no more than three business days following the closing of elections.

"Once the Scrutineer has tabulated the votes, the CEO will notify the candidates of the results in their respective Zone," Schubert says. "And at the AGM I'll inform everyone in attendance who the new National Directors are in British Columbia, Saskatchewan and the Atlantic Zones."

Elections in three Zones will take place once every three years, with Manitoba, Northern Ontario and Ottawa happening in 2015.
