Starter's Shack - On Site at the RBC Canadian Open

The only thing that might be more common at Glen Abbey this week than khaki-coloured cargo shirts and golf sandals is PGA of Canada professionals.

Here’s a quick rundown of the PGA of Canada members I’ve seen on the grounds here at the RBC Canadian Open.

Of course, right off the hop, Bryn Parry and Brian Hadley are both in the field this week and are representing the PGA of Canada very well. Bryn’s shaking hands and chatting with volunteers, while Brian has a perma-smile on his face strolling down the fairway.

The two easiest to spot PGA of Canada members here are Scott Cowx and Jim Zwolak. Why do they stick out so much? Well, they’ve landed caddie gigs this week (Mackenzie Hughes and Albin Choi) and unlike every other looper out here, they’ve got legs the colour of the out-of-bounds stakes bordering the second hole.

Gareth Raflewski, Derek Ingram, Reggie Millage, Nick Starchuk, Jason Helman and Sean Casey are all cruising the range and short game area working with guys like John Rollins, Hadley, Choi, Eric Banks and more.

Cameron Jacobs, Stewart Bannatyne and Peter Chandler are decked out in yellow jerseys this week representing TaylorMade-adidas Golf (which, by the way, has done an incredible job with branding here at the Open).

I’ve also spotted Brian Groves, Scott Bogle, Jamie Reid, Adam Tobin, Alf Callowhill, Aaron Pye and Conor O’Shea on the golf course following the action.

And I’m sure I’ve missed about a hundred or so other PGA of Canada members here at the RBC Canadian Open, so to them, I apologize.

If you happen to spot me out there though, come say hello—I’ll be one of the few guys out there not wearing golf sandals and cargo shorts.
