CN Future Links introduces Facility of the Year Award

CN Future Links introduces Facility of the Year Award

This fall, Golf Canada and the PGA of Canada are pleased to introduce the inaugural CN Future Links Facility of the Year Award. With the introduction of this award, the goal is to recognize one club that has demonstrated a high level involvement with junior golf through the CN Future Links program. The chosen club will have demonstrated a strong commitment to the development of Canadian youth while at the same time making full use of the online database, drills library and reporting system available through the program.

In order to be considered for this award, facilities must submit an application form to Golf Canada prior to the deadline of October 31st at 5:00pm EST. Golf Canada’s Sport Development Committee will then review all applications and select a facility that best meets the following criteria:

- Must be actively reporting results through the CN Future Links program online tools
- The facility must have ‘graded’ a minimum of 20 junior participant progress reports in the Learn to Play program
- Must have a minimum of one PGA of Canada member in good standing
- Must have visited at least one school that is registered in a Golf in Schools program
- Must have run a CN Future Links program for at least one full year

Other facility achievements not directly related to the CN Future Links program will also be taken into consideration. Facilities that demonstrate innovative teaching methods while delivering the CN Future Links program will be considered favourable among the selection process.

A CN Future Links Facility of the Year plaque will be presented to the PGA of Canada professional and club representatives of the winning facility at an arranged media day in the community of the winning facility. The winning facility will also be featured in Golf Canada magazine as well as the PGA of Canada PRO:Files magazine.

Golf Canada and the PGA of Canada are proud to recognize the many facilities that contribute to developing Canadian youth through golf. We thank all clubs who participate in the program and encourage you to submit your application for this award. The winner will be announced before December 31st, 2013.
