Early Commitments

Three of Canada’s best female golfers have committed to play in this year’s PGA Women’s Championship of Canada.

Defending champion (and three-time winner) Alena Sharp, recent CN Canadian Women’s Tour winner Samantha Richdale and Canada’s top ranked amateur (also the 31st-ranked amateur in the world) Brooke Henderson will all tee it up at The Club at North Halton in Georgetown, Ont., July 2-4.

“We’re six weeks out and it’s already shaping up to be one of the strongest, most diverse fields we’ve ever had in the 27-year history of the PGA Women’s Championship of Canada,” says the PGA of Canada’s Managing Director of Championships and Events, Adam LeBrun. “When you’ve got the defending champion, a player who is trending upwards and the country’s brightest amateur star already in the mix, you can’t help but be excited.”

The PGA Women’s Championship of Canada takes place July 2-4 at The Club at North Halton in Georgetown, Ont.

The Simmlands Insurance Services Pro-Am kicks off championship week on July 2nd and this marks the sixth year Simmlands Insurance Services has hosted their Pro-Am prior to the PGA Women’s Championship of Canada with proceeds of the event going to Women in Insurance Cancer Crusade.
