Brunton to be Honoured

PGA of Canada Master Professional Henry Brunton will be one of nine coaches at the upcoming 2013 Ontario Coaching Excellence Awards.

The nearly 30-year PGA of Canada member will be recognized with the Andy Higgins Lifetime Achievement Award at the provincial awards on Saturday, April 13 at the Scotiabank Theatre in Toronto.

“Looking back at the difference makers in our lives, it’s often a coach that comes to mind,” said Susan Kitchen, Executive Director of the CAO. “Great coaches deserve recognition, and what a great way to kick-start Ontario Coaches Week.

Brunton, a University of Ottawa graduate first became a member of the PGA of Canada in 1984 and was recognized as a Master Professional in 2008. From 1999-2011, he served as Golf Canada’s National Team head coach. Most recently he was named by Golf Digest as a prominent teacher making an impact in Canada. Brunton is also the creator of the PGA of Canada Teaching and Coaching Certification Program and the author of two books— Journey to Excellence and High Performance Golf.

He currently runs Henry Brunton Golf, which is located at Eagles Nest Golf Club in Maple, Ont.
