Patriot Golf Day Canada officially kicked off Friday in North Bay, Ont., with a ceremonial tee shot by General André Deschamps, Commander of the Royal Canadian Air Force.

Also on hand for the special event at the famed Stanley Thompson designed North Bay Golf & Country Club, was PGA of Canada CEO, Gary Bernard; y Aspin, MP for Nippissing-Timiskaming; Victor Fedeli, MPP for Nippissing; North Bay Mayor, Al McDonald; past PGA of Canada President (and North Bay, Ont., native), Glenn Cundari; a number of Honourary Colonels and numerous Royal Canadian Air Force members from 22nd Wing—North Bay.

“This is a pretty special and historic moment for the PGA of Canada,” Bernard said at the morning’s press conference. “On behalf of the nearly 4,000 PGA of Canada members I’m thrilled that the Association is part of this tremendous event.”
