PGA of Canada Names Scholarship Recipients

The PGA of Canada is proud to announce the seven recipients of its 2012 scholarships.

Earning scholarships are Kendra Read, Jenna Jackson, Kowan O’Keefe, Kristen Sovereign, Curtis Clark, Eric Thorsteinson and Kim Valleau.

“On behalf of all 3,800 PGA of Canada members, I congratulate these seven scholarship winners for their hard work and dedication,” says PGA of Canada            President, Gregg Schubert. “All of the recipients are either children, grandchildren or current members of the PGA of Canada, and that makes me very proud to be part of the Association.”

Since 1994, the PGA of Canada has awarded scholarships to Members, Apprentices and Candidates for Membership, as well as the children and grandchildren of members in an effort to encourage, support and promote higher education.

Scholarships are awarded to recipients based on academic achievement and contributions to their community. A total of seven individuals will benefit from the scholarship fund this year, giving each of them $2,000 toward their education.

Applications are judged by a three-member independent panel and awarded based on academic achievement and contributions to the community.
