PGA Members Advance

Five PGA of Canada members advanced through the U.S. Open local qualifying stage this month.

Dave Levesque, Brian McCann, Jacob Patte, Ryan Williams and Michael Woodcock all punched their ticket to the sectional qualifying stage on June 4th at 11 different venues across the United States.

McCann, the No. 1-ranked player in the PGA of Canada Player Rankings presented by RBC, posted a 68 at the Country Club of Rochester on May 14th. Patte, who became a PGA of Canada member just this past April, also qualified at the Rochester, N.Y., site, shooting a 69.

Levesque, who sits fifth in the player rankings, made it through the Macgregor Links GC in Saratoga Springs, N.Y., site after a 72; while Williams shot a 71 at Bermuda Dunes CC in Bermuda Dunes, Calif.; and Woodcock’s 71 at the Country Club of Detroit was good enough to advance.

Players who make it through sectional qualifying will take part in the 2012 U. S. Open, which takes place June 14-17 at San Francisco’s Olympic Club.
