SCOREGolf and PGA of Canada Launch Social Media Contest

In a move to add more quality golf instruction content on its website, SCOREGolf in partnership with the PGA of Canada is launching a social media contest this May exclusively for PGA of Canada members.

SCOREGolf is looking for videos in either English or French that are roughly 90 to 120 seconds in length on any tip, lesson, game plan theory, etc. SCOREGolf will then post them directly to its website and YouTube channel.

Throughout its 32-year history SCOREGolf has turned towards PGA of Canada professional when looking for instruction content.

“We know PGA of Canada members across Canada are armed with fantastic drills and tips to help make their students better,” says SCOREGolf Magazine’s Managing Editor, Jason Logan. “This is a chance for them to share that knowledge on a national stage.”

The five videos that garner the most YouTube views will be selected as contest finalists. The five videos will be judged by a panel comprised of SCOREGolf editors, as well as selected SCOREGolf readers and viewers. The contest, which is open to all PGA of Canada members, runs May 1-Aug. 31.

The winner of the contest will be brought to Toronto in September (with travel and accommodations provided) to film an instruction segment for a 2013 episode of SCOREGolf TV and take part in a professional photo shoot for an article in a 2013 issue of SCOREGolf Magazine.

“This is a great industry collaboration between SCOREGolf and the PGA of Canada,” says PGA of Canada CEO, Gary Bernard. “It will give our members a chance to showcase themselves across various media platforms.”

“Instruction remains the No. 1 reason our readers pick up SCOREGolf Magazine. But page counts limit us when it comes to how much instruction we can offer,” Logan says. “Our goal behind this initiative is to create a vast library of instruction videos by PGA of Canada members to help quench the thirst of those who visit SCOREGolf.com on regular basis looking for help with their games.”
