The PGA Remembers . . .

The PGA of Canada is deeply saddened by the passing of longtime member John Scott of Nova Scotia.

John, who was a member of the Association for more than 25 years, suddenly passed away surrounded by family and friends on Dec. 17th in Halifax.

Over the course of his career, he served as head professional at numerous golf clubs, including Ashburn Golf Club in Halifax and Chester Golf Course in Chester, N.S. John was also a respected golf teacher in Atlantic Canada and thoroughly enjoyed supporting junior golf in his home province of Nova Scotia.

John is survived by his wife, Sherry (Salsman) Scott; Daughter, Meredith Scott; Son, Greg Scott; Sisters, Bonnie (Hugh) Davidson, Mary (J.B.) Molson, and Chari (Daniel) Burke; Brothers, Ewen (Joe) (Carolyn), Stephen (Suthisa) and Russell (Lisa Turner); Nieces, Mary-Jane (Jim), Jacqueline, Leslie Scott MacLennan (Tim), Lisa (Derek) Law, Rebecca (Rod) White, Charlotte (Andrew) Smith, Jessica, Emily and Danielle; Nephews, Mitch, Santi, Dylan, MacKenzie, Madison and Alexander. He is also survived by parents in law, Whiley and Betty Salsman; Sister and Brother in law, Annette and Darren Cossar. He was also be missed by his beloved dog, Bogey.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 21, 2011 from 7-9 p.m. at Atlantic Funeral Home—771 Main St, Dartmouth, N.S. A memorial service will be held in the same location on Thursday at 10 a.m. in the funeral home chapel, followed by a reception in the funeral home reception centre.
