The Nova Scotia Golf Association (NSGA) will recognize the centennial of the PGA of Canada on Tuesday, December 13, by presenting the MacCulloch Cup to the Nova Scotia Sport Hall of Fame (NSSHF).

The presentation will take place at the NS Sport Hall of Fame, World Trade and Convention Centre, 1800 Argyle St., Halifax, commencing at 12:00p.m.

The MacCulloch Cup was presented by the late C.E. “Charles” MacCulloch (1911-1979) on behalf of his firm, MacCulloch Building Products Ltd. Along with the Trophy MacCulloch included an annual purse of $500.00 (approximately $4,100.00 in present day dollars). Both professionals and amateurs could compete in The Nova Scotia Open which was contested from 1953-1964. Five members of the NSSHF have their names on the trophy.

The Trophy had been in storage for many years and the NSGA determined that the time was right to make this artifact available to a wider audience. Former NS Open champions, representative of the APGA, as well as members of the MacCulloch family are expected to attend the ceremony.
