Raising Awareness

Raising Awareness

If you’ve seen PGA of Canada President Glenn Cundari or its CEO Gary Bernard lately you might notice something a little different about the pair.

Upon closer inspection, that something is a moustache—and for two guys who are normally shaved down to the wood like the greens at Oakmont, it’s really quite a sight to behold.

But enjoy it while you can, because once the month is over, the moustaches will be gone.

Bernard and Cundari are growing moustaches as part of Movember in support of Prostate Cancer Canada.

“We thought it would be a great idea to grow our moustaches out this Movember in support of a great cause,” Bernard says.

Cundari agrees saying, “Hopefully our members will take notice and either donate to our moustaches or grow their own and get people to donate to theirs,” adding, “either way, the money raised will go towards Prostate Cancer Canada and that’s the main goal of Movember.”

The PGA of Canada is once again running its Movember contest again this year.

Members are encouraged to grow their moustaches in support Prostate Cancer Canada, raise money and awareness, and at month’s end submit pictures of their moustaches to the National Office. The best moustaches will be posted on the PGA of Canada’s website, with online voting deciding who has the best moustache. The winner will receive a PGA of Canada logo’d merchandise prize pack and lay claim to having the best moustache of all the 3,800 PGA of Canada members.

Prostate Cancer Canada is the Official Charity of the PGA of Canada and a proud partner in the PGA Championship of Canada sponsored by Mr. Lube & presented by TaylorMade/adidas Golf and & the Mr. Lube - PGA Seniors’ Championship of Canada presented by Cleveland Golf/Srixon.
