Brunton's Induction

Brunton's Induction

Kemptville, Ont., native and PGA of Canada Master Professional Henry Brunton returned home recently for his induction into the North Grenville Sports Hall of Fame.

Brunton and three others were honoured Oct. 27 at the North Grenville Municipal Centre for the Hall of Fame’s 2011 Induction Ceremony.

The longtime PGA of Canada member said he was honoured by the induction, especially since it came in his hometown.

"Being from Kemptville, this is a celebration for me,” Bruton told Ashley Kulp of the Kemptville EMC. “I'm very proud to be from here and my life has been enriched because I'm from Kemptville, the chances I got to play sports and being allowed to grow up here,” he said, adding, “I wouldn't trade this for anything.”

The University of Ottawa graduate first became a member of the PGA of Canada in 1984 and was recognized as a Master Professional in 2008. From 1999-2011, he served as Golf Canada’s National Team head coach. Most recently he was named by Golf Digest as a prominent teacher making an impact in Canada and is the only Canadian listed among GOLF Magazine’s Top 100 Teachers. Brunton is also the creator of the PGA of Canada Teaching and Coaching Certification Program and the author of Journey to Excellence.

Brunton currently runs Henry Brunton Golf, which is located at Eagles Nest Golf Club in Maple, Ont.
