CALGARY, AB: After two close matches this morning, Brian McCann of Mississauga, ON and Vincent Dumouchel of Candiac, QC came out on top. The two will go head-to-head for the honour of having their name engraved on the almost century-old P.D. Ross Trophy as the winner of the 2011 PGA Championship of Canada sponsored by Mr. Lube and presented by TaylorMade/adidas.

The intense match between Brian McCann of The Academy at BraeBen (ON) and Dean Brown of The Royal Regina Club (SK) was a seesaw battle all day with McCann jumping out to a 2-up lead through 10 holes, before Brown brought it back to all square heading into 17. With both players hitting mediocre shots on the difficult par-3 17th hole, Brown was left with a six-footer for par while McCann's delicate bunker shot left him with three feet. After Brown missed his shot, he watched McCann slide one in the side door of the hole to take a 1-up lead. Brown hit his approach shot heavy on the 18th hole and rolled his pitch shot to about six feet. When he missed the putt for par, McCann embraced his caddy and roommate for the week Andy Holborn as they celebrated the chance at the title this afternoon.

"Today was much different than the last few days in terms of my putting and the wind," said McCann, winner of the 2010 Canadian PGA Assistant's Championship. "I had my head down just working on my stroke as Dean putted, and when he missed it I just let out a sigh of relief knowing I now had a chance to get my name on that incredible trophy."

Dumouchel continues to be a giant killer at Cottonwood Golf & Country Club as he now adds # 3 seed and two-time National Champion Danny King of Milton, ON to his list of victories. Dumouchel took down friend and the #10 seed Billy Houle on Friday morning and #2 seed Dave Levesque in the afternoon.

For the second day in a row Dumouchel birdied the 18th hole to win his match after nearly holing it from about 165 yards in the rough. Cold and windy conditions did not make things easy but a two bogey and one birdie round for Dumouchel was enough to knock off the favourite King.

"This has been an amazing week and I want to keep it going this afternoon," said Dumouchel, a winner of multiple events over the last few years in the Quebec Zone of the Canadian PGA. "I don't think Danny King knew who I was, but we all know who he is and for me to beat him in an event as big as this is great for my confidence. I hope to keep it going this afternoon as this would be the biggest win of my life."

The final match of the PGA Championship of Canada will start at 1:30pm. A 3rd place match will take place between King and Brown at 1:15pm, both at Cottonwood Golf and Country Club.

The Canadian PGA Player Rankings presented by RBC will see a significant shuffle when they are refreshed next week. McCann and Dumouchel will vault up the list to the top ten while Danny King will grab the # 1 spot from Bryn Parry of North Vancouver, BC.
