For the Coach of New Competitor and Coach of Developing Competitor, workshop attendees must maintain their certification.

What Certification Means

Obtaining and maintaining certification as a NCCP Golf Coach testifies to the coach’s competency in working with that level of athlete. To obtain NCCP certification in golf, candidates are evaluated at the highest national standard, and must provide evidence of technical skills necessary in the game, a cleared Back Check, and competency in the NCCP evaluation criteria presented in training.

The PGA of Canada and the Coaching Association of Canada recognize the value of having certified NCCP coaches that are engaged in Professional Development programs which reinforce the values of lifelong learning and sharing amongst the coaching community. Certified coaches in the NCCP are required to accumulate a certain number of professional development points over the course of 5 years, depending on the context (s) they are certified in.

PD points can be earned through a multitude of activities that certified coaches already participate in including: national and provincial sport organization conferences and workshops, golf industry events, coaching committees, eLearning modules, NCCP workshops, coach mentorship programs, and active coaching.
